George Walker's knowledge of oil filtration began while serving in the U. S. Navy, from 1954 until his retirement in 1975 as a Master Chief Machinist Mate (E-9).
His interest in the Frantz Oil Cleaner/Filters began in 1962 with sales, installation and service of what he believed to be an outstanding product. That interest continues today with the
reintroduction of the Frantz Filters to the market!
The newly manufactured model of the Frantz Oil Filter, which has been produced since October, 1999 is a vastly improved version of the one originally manufactured between the early 1960's and 1988.
The late George Walker spent a great deal of his time and resources to ensure a superior product. He took particular care in correcting the original product's known defects. The Model 2000 is the result of his attention to detail and his insistence on the use of quality material as well as top-notch manufacturing techniques.
The Model 2000 canister is slightly thicker and made of solid stainless steel, the original Model C was made of mild steel, which could rust. Our "Polished Show Class" unit is not chrome plated, but polished stainless steel.
The clamp on the original model was an overcenter snap clamp, which had insufficient holding power. The improved clamp has 3 times the holding pressure when properly installed.
Additional design improvements include a thicker stainless steel retainer ring and tissue pull ring. The fine and coarse screens are now in one assembly.
